The Children's Place

THE CHILDREN’S PLACE

Crafting a sustainable story for a new generation.

As the next step in their decade-long sustainability journey, The Children’s Place (TCP) needed to translate their efforts into a meaningful story for associates and a growing younger customer base.

Together, we discovered a shared truth about parenthood and TCP’s commitment to transparency in sustainability: that honoring progress is part of the process, no matter how big or small. Using that insight, we created a messaging platform full of purpose, joy, and endless optimism—then provided clear language and guidelines for telling an inspiring story, inside and out.

A head-to-toe makeover.

We started by exploring several theme options—each rooted in a unique aspect of The Children’s Place brand—to help guide the overall design of the report. Ultimately, the brand chose a whimsical fingerpaint-inspired theme rooted in the playful, youthful spirit of the company and the families it impacts.

Buttoned up with best practices.

The next step was establishing a set of visual design best practices that would help make the information digestible and accessible for all audiences, including employees, investors, and candidates.

Weaving together facts and feelings.

The Children’s Place report served a dual purpose. First and foremost, the company needed to provide a clear and comprehensive overview of its ESG efforts and achievements. We accomplished this by getting creative with data visualization—leveraging icons, infographics, and charts to drive home progress and overall impact.

On the other hand, the report is also an opportunity to create an emotional connection with the work the company is doing. So we gave a face and a voice to their story with people-focused imagery that represents The Children’s Place’s diverse workforce and customer base, as well as testimonials from its people and partners.

The end result was a stunning 100+ page document that grabs (and keeps!) your attention from start to finish. As our partnership with The Children’s Place continues to grow, we look forward to helping them amplify their social good storytelling even more.
